JAKARTA - After Indonesia officially announced the sales price of the Lepas L8 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) SUV for the national market. Interestingly, the price tag for this model is still maintained at Rp589 million on the road (OTR) Jakarta, the same as the price introduced at its debut at the 2025 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW).
This decision is a signal of Lepas' commitment to consumers who have made reservations since the prebooking period. In the midst of the trend of rising vehicle prices due to various factors, the company chose not to adjust prices when entering the official sales phase.
Vice Country Director Lepas Indonesia Temmy Wiradjaja, explained that the time lag between the initial launch and the official price announcement was not due to production or distribution constraints, but was part of the company's strategy in preparing after-sales services.
"We are indeed preparing, especially the dealer network. Currently we have a plan for 32 networks, with six locations that are already fully operational. We want to ensure that consumers can get the best service, so that the time for announcing the price has been arranged like this," said Temmy in West Jakarta, Sunday, July 26.
Temmy also revealed that Lepas L8 has now been produced completely knocked down (CKD) in Indonesia. Local production is one of the factors that allows the company to maintain the selling price since it was first announced to the public.
"Unit L8 has been produced in Indonesia. That's what makes us able to maintain the price as it is now," he said.
Furthermore, Temmy ensured that the Lepas E4 model would also be produced in CKD in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the plan for local assembly for the E6 model is still in the study phase by the company.
With a price of Rp589 million OTR Jakarta, Lepas L8 will compete in the PHEV SUV segment which is increasingly crowded with various brands in the Indonesian market. In terms of performance, the Lepas L8 carries a 1,498 cc four-cylinder gasoline engine combined with an electric motor in a plug-in hybrid system.
The combination produces around 315 hp with a maximum torque of 365 Nm. All power is sent to the front wheels through a front-wheel drive (FWD) drive system combined with an automatic transmission. To support the electrification system, this car is equipped with a 18.3 kWh battery with a combined mileage claim of up to 1,300 kilometers.
