JAKARTA - Geely Galaxy is preparing to open a new chapter in the electrification MPV segment. Its first flagship model with EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) technology, Geely Galaxy V900, is scheduled to begin global pre-sales on January 7.
Previously, early booking access had been opened in China since December 25. Launching from Carnewschina, Monday, January 5, the V900 variant is equipped with an all-wheel drive (AWD) system and is claimed to be able to cover a comprehensive distance of up to 1,200 kilometers.
This model can be seen as an EREV version of the LEVC L380 pure electric MPV, which is now also under the Geely Galaxy umbrella after the brand reorganization. In terms of appearance, the most striking change is seen in the large chrome-plated front grille that gives a luxurious impression, without losing the typical layered design character of modern MPVs.
Regarding the price, Geely itself is still closing its information. But as an illustration, the LEVC L380 which is currently marketed in the range of 299,900-599,900 yuan or around Rp718 million to Rp1.4 billion.
The V900 is positioned as a medium to large MPV with dimensions of 5,360 mm (length), 1,998 mm (width), and 1,940 mm (height), and a wheelbase of 3,200 mm. Geely offers three seating configurations, namely 6, 7, and 8 passengers.
Interestingly, the 8-passenger version carries a four-row design with a 2+2+2+2 configuration, which is relatively rare in its class. Relying on Geely's Super AI Range-Extender Technology, the V900 combines a 1.5T gasoline engine with two electric motors.
The engine is claimed to have a thermal efficiency of 47.26 percent. The front electric motor produces 90 kW of power, while the rear motor contributes 250 kW, with a total combined output of 340 kW or the equivalent of 456 hp.
The maximum speed of this MPV reaches 190 km/h, while the moose test maneuver test results are recorded at 76.8 km/h. For energy storage, there are two lithium ternary battery options, namely 43.3 kWh from CALB-Tech and 50 kWh from CATL.
Both offer a pure electric range of 200 km and 240 km, with a total combined range of up to 1,200 km. In terms of driving assistance, the Geely Galaxy V900 is equipped with the G-Pilot H5 system powered by the Nvidia Orin chip.
The device is supported by one lidar, three millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 cameras. Features include NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) for toll roads, urban NOA, to automatic parking assistance.
Entering the cabin, the modern feel is immediately felt through the 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and the 15.4-inch center touchscreen that runs the Flyme Auto 2.0 system. Passengers in the second row are also spoiled with a 5.98-inch armrest control screen that is connected to the entertainment screen in the ceiling.
Comfort is further enhanced thanks to seats with heating, ventilation, and massage features, as well as the Flyme Sound audio system with 27 speakers that envelop the entire cabin. With a combination of long-distance travel, cutting-edge technology, and flexible cabin configuration, the Geely Galaxy V900 has the potential to be a serious challenger in the global electrification MPV segment.
