Ahead Of The Launch Of Early 2026 EVitara, Maruti Suzuki Strengthens The Electric Vehicle Ecosystem

JAKARTA - Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch an eVitara electric car early next year (2026). Ahead of its official launch, the manufacturer has begun to announce a number of major steps related to electric mobility and strengthening its supporting ecosystem.

Citing Rushlane, Wednesday, December 3, the car assembled in Gujarat will be offered with various attractive packages, including the BaaS (Battery as a Service) program and subscription options.

As additional guarantees, there is also a repurchase option. A bold move, especially with the choice of the package which makes prices more competitive.

Not only that, Maruti Suzuki also plans to provide a reliable charging network, with more than 2,000 MSIL-owned charging points on its sales and service networks spread across 1,100 cities. They are also targeting more than 100,000 common charging points by 2030.

Maruti Suzuki insists on her ambition to dominate India's electric car market, as they control the internal combustion car (ICE) market. The ambition is quite aggressive.

To achieve this, the company relies on strong product ranks as well as India's largest fast charging network, with a target of one charger every 510 km.

At the same time, Maruti Suzuki also highlighted various advantages of eVitara, including the achievement of perfect stars in the NCAP Bharat test for the protection of Adults and Children. Based on the HEARTECT-e platform, eVitara is equipped with important safety features such as 7 standard airbags, ADAS Level 2, high-tretching steel structure, TPMS, 360 camera, front-backer parking sensor, and electric parking brakes with Auto Hold.

Presence in Indonesia

PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) confirmed the launch of its inaugural electric car, Suzuki eVitara, in 2026. It is very likely that the model will launch at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026.

"Actually, we told you when we performed the e-Vitara, that at the beginning of next year (2026) we will introduce the BEV version," said PT SIS Marketing Managing Director, Donny Saputra, some time ago.

Furthermore, Donny said that the electric car launch will be held at the exhibition at the beginning of the year, most likely to coincide with IIMS 2026.

"We will launch a full battery electric vehicle version, the timing is roughly in one of the motor shows at the beginning of the year," he added.
