Kia Pamer EV5 WKNDR, Electric SUV For Adventure Lovers

AKARTA - Kia introduced a new concept model called EV5 WKNDR which features the character of an adventure-oriented electric SUV. This model is displayed as a development of EV5 with a focus on the ability to cross various terrains.

Launching from the EV Arena, Wednesday, November 26, EV5 WKNDR comes with a significant visual change compared to the standard version. Suspension is made higher to increase the distance to the ground, combined with special tires for heavy fields and large rims.

Bodi is strengthened by a wider feder and additional protective elements. The exterior is equipped with protective plates at the bottom of the vehicle, thicker side skirt, and a large roof rack to carry travel equipment.

Beige body color combined with green and gray accents to strengthen the identity of outdoor vehicles. On the interior side, Kia provides a fairly thorough refresh.

The wide screen dominates the dashboard and is combined with a digital instrument panel behind the steering wheel. The console is being revised, while the seat uses three-dimensional textured materials that carries the theme of modern adventures.

Aspects of functionality also get attention. There is more storage space in the cabin, including additional rails on the ceiling designed to secure equipment as vehicles cross rough lanes.

Technically, the EV5 WKNDR still uses the E-GMP platform which is the basis of the EV5 production model. The standard EV5 model is available in front-wheeled and all-wheeled driving configurations, with different battery options depending on the market.

For the WKNDR variant, Kia has not revealed the details of the complete specifications, but has confirmed improvements in the suspension sector. EV5 WKNDR became the fourth model in the ranks of Kia's adventure-style vehicles, following EV9, PV5, and Tasman.
