Jeep Recon 2026 Officially Presents, Brings Legendary 4x4 Capabilities To Electric Era

JAKARTA - Jeep continues to expand its eco-friendly car portfolio by officially launching the 2026 Recon, the first and only Trail Rated SUV, which is fully electric.

Designed from zero for adventure needs, Jeep Recon carries the legendary 4x4 Jeep capability in a fully electric-powered package. Built on a dedicated EV architecture, the model combines strong performance with an authentic 4xe character. Electric four-wheelers are present as a standard, offering convincing traction across a wide range of terrain and supported by Jeep-type Selec-Terrain systems with various driving modes to adjust conditions.

Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf called the 2026 Recon a big step for the brand an electric SUV that sticks to the core value of the Jeep: freedom, adventure, and capability.

"This SUV has a Trail Rated rating, specially designed, and is ready to bring Jeep fans to the future without sacrificing the legendary performance they know," he said, quoted from the official website, Thursday, November 20.

With electric powertrains to their authentic designs, Jeep Recon was created to present a new type of tough adventure on off-road and daily use, as well as future technology-oriented.

"Through Jeep Recon, we prove that electrification is not only compatible with off-road capabilities, but is also able to improve it through instant torques, precision control, and a quieter and connected driving experience," added Broderdorf.

In terms of appearance, the 2026 Recon combines world-class expertise with a bold proportion and indisputable Jeep DNA. Inspired by the legacy but focused on the future, the model retains Jeep's iconic features while introducing modern interpretations of electric-powered adventurer SUVs. The large glass enhances visibility, while the front fascia is perpendicular to exhibiting an elongated seven-slot gril ring, U-shaped daytime running lights, and a suite of premium LED lights. Gloss BlackZing on theural, pillar, and trim windows "plus the Gloss Black roof options" gives a firm contrasting impression.

Entering the cabin, Jeep Recon 2026 features an interior designed for adventurers, with a typical Jeep horizontal layout, a sturdy passenger handle, and a clean and symmetric dashboard.

This electric SUV is equipped with a 100 kWh battery that offers a range of up to 250 miles (about 402 km). The 2026 Jeep Recon EV will be produced at the Stellantis facility in Toluca, Mexico, with production schedules starting early next year.
