Wuling Darion PHEV Resilience Test Bali-Jakarta Route

JAKARTA - Wuling invites the media crew to feel the sensation of driving his latest MPV, Darion PHEV, with the Bali to Jakarta route which will take place from 17-19 November 2025.

The participants, including the VOI team, were invited to take a long journey from Bali to Jakarta to feel firsthand the comfort, efficiency, and performance of the Wuling Darion PHEV, the first MPV in Indonesia to carry the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology.

A total of 7 (seven) units of the PHEV Darion are provided as vehicles for media colleagues during this trip.

Before starting the journey from Duck Bengil, Nusa Dua, the participants attended the presentation session regarding various arrangements and features on the PHEV Darion. This explanation includes mode energy options such as EV Max, EV First, HEV, and Fuel Priority, as well as driving modes consisting of Custom, ECO, Standard, and Sport. In addition, the response setting of brake pedals and EPS can also be adjusted to the preference of each driver to ensure optimal driving experience on various road conditions.

As part of the activity, Wuling again presents the challenge of How Far Can You Go Challenge which invites journalists to prove the efficiency of the PHEV Darion in real driving conditions. The participants traveled as far as possible with only one full charge of gasoline and batteries, with AC conditions turned on, four people in each car, drove normally and followed the applicable speed limits and signs.

This challenge is an illustration that can describe how the PHEV Darion is able to provide a balance between the performance, energy efficiency, and convenience of an MPV. This activity proves Darion's ability to maximize energy use in various travel situations, as well as an experience for media colleagues to try the differences in mode energy and drive mode in this MPV," added Danang Wiratmoko, Product Communication Manager of Wuling Motors.

The second Darioon batch of Media Drive trips are divided into three main stages, starting from Bali to Banyuwangi on the first day, followed by a trip from Banyuwangi to Solo, and ending with the Solo route to Jakarta.

Through this series of routes, media colleagues had the opportunity to experience the performance of the PHEV Darion on various road characteristics, ranging from urban areas with heavy traffic, coastal routes, hills, to toll roads.

In this activity, the Wuling Darion PHEV type EX became a vehicle used by participants. This model is powered by the Ling Power Hybrid system which combines 1,498 cc gasoline engines with a 145 kW electric motor and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) transmission.

This smart system works to optimize the use of electricity and gasoline as needed to make it more efficient. When operating entirely in electric mode, Darion PHEV is able to cover a distance of up to 125 kilometers (CLTC), and in total it can reach up to 1,000 kilometers with a combination of gasoline and electricity.
