Failed To Copy Range Rover Conquering Tianmen Mountain Stairs, Chery Apologizes

JAKARTA - The action of Chery Fulwin X3L failed to climb in the tourist area of Mount Tianmen, Zhangjiajie, China, in the spotlight and went viral on social media. Chery also apologized for the incident and also provided the results of the investigation to the point of failing to climb.

Previously, 999 steps on the Mount Tianmen 'Gerbang' were conquered by the Range Rover in 2018. Now, the Chinese manufacturer wants to prove they can also do it in a 3XL Fulwin car.

However, Chery's action on November 12 failed because of difficulties in climbing the steps on the mountain. The SUV pulled back and eventually hit the fence until it was damaged.

"The car remained there for two hours without moving," said a witness, quoted by Carnewschina.

Chery finally gave a statement regarding the failure of his car to face the extreme test. Chery also apologized to the manager of the Mount Tianmen tourist area, tourists, partners, and all parties for the incident.

"The results of the initial investigation showed that the problem occurred because the main hook of the safety rope suddenly came off. When the hook came off, the rope became free and then got stuck on the right wheel of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to lose traction, slide back and hit the safety fence," said Chery's statement quoted on Saturday, November 15.

"This resulted in partial damage to the fence. In this incident, there were no casualties or damage to the surrounding natural environment. This incident shows our negligence in assessing risks and lack of detailed control in the planning and implementation of the test, but incidents cannot be avoided," the statement continued.
