BAIC BJ40 Latest EV Launches With ADAS Improvement And More Complete Features

JAKARTA - BAIC has officially introduced the latest variant BJ40 EREV which comes with updates to the cabin feature driving and refresher assistance system. The model is named Extended-Range Yujing Zhixing Edition.

The new variant retains the design character of the BJ40 typical box, including the five-hole grip, integrated main lights with DRL, as well as spare tires placed on the back door. The back also carries a separate opening baggage door and F-lettered rear light, which is a visual feature of the BAIC offroad model.

Entering the cabin, updates are most felt to come from entertainment systems and connectivity. BJ40 EREV is equipped with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, 12.8-inch central screen, and a separate screen for 12.8-inch front passengers.

There is also a 9-inch digital rearview mirror. The entire system is Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip-driven and is connected to a 10- speaker audio system that has an independent amplifier. The embedded Intelligent Hill' technology relies on 26 sensors.

So that the car is able to carry out various ADAS functions. The features available include the Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) for high speed, smart parking assistance, to memory parking.

For the kitchen runway, BJ40 EREV carries a 1.5T engine that works as a generator for double electric motors. The engine produces 188 cellphones, while the two electric motors provide a peak of 548 hp and 655 Nm torque.

The 40.3 kWh battery allows for a pure electric range of about 152 kilometers based on CLTC testing. The model strengthens the ranks of BAIC's new energy vehicles and becomes an extended-range variant of BJ40 which was previously only available with gasoline engines, and is marketed at a price of 204,800 yuan.
