JAKARTA - After landing in Indonesia at the GIIAS 2025 exhibition, the latest Subaru Forester finally landed in neighboring Malaysia which was fully imported from Japan.

Quoting from the Paultan page, Friday, October 31, Subaru Forester 2.5iS EyeSight sells for 221,500 ringgit or the range of IDR 878 million, which does not include insurance, and is more expensive than the Indonesian market which is at IDR 735.5 million.

In design, the Forester looked similar to the previous model, but with bolder design signatures like a larger grip with black insertions, two-level headlights, a stronger-looking front bumper, and a square-wheel arch with an accompanying black coating.

On the interior, the redesigned Forester dashboard is in line with other Subaru models, especially the 11.6-inch infotainment touch screen which is vertically oriented and integrated with climate control, thereby reducing the number of touch controls on the dashboard. The steering wheel and the pressneling lever still feel familiar to those who have used the old Forester.

Regarding the heartburn, this model is equipped with a four-cylinder FB25 boxer engine of 2.5 liters naturally-assisted which produces 185 PS (182 hp or 136 kW) power at 5,800 rpm and a 247 Nm torque at 3,700 rpm.

This gasoline engine is combined with TR58 Lineartronic CVT transmission and the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (with Active Torque Vectoring) Subaru system, which allows acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 9.7 seconds and a top speed of 205 km/hour.

The driving system, which is also equipped with a front MacPherson structure and back double wishbones, is combined with the Enhanced Subaru Global Platform, which increases stiffness by 10 percent for better driving convenience. The torsional stiffness of the body also increased by 30 percent.

For buyers who like adventure, Forester offers 220 mm ground clearance, hill derivative control, and double function X-Mode, the latter comes with wider functionality than the usual X-Mode. Meanwhile, Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-Drive) allows drivers to choose Intelligent and Sport modes for optimal engine responses.
