Volkswagen Golf GTI Sepang Edition Officially Launches In Neighboring Countries, This Is What's Different

Volkswagen's Hatchback icon received a special edition in Malaysia, Volkswagen Golf GTI Sepang Edition which took on the basis of GTI Mk8 Golf.

Quoting from the Paultan page, Thursday, October 9, GTI Sepang Edition Golf was the first model in Malaysia to wear the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) emblem, and was Volkswagen Malaysia's first collaboration for a special edition model.

GTI Sepang Edition golf is distinguished from ordinary GTI with elements that include the Sepang Edition emblem at the back of the car, as well as the Sepang Edition emblem with a UV layer engulfing in the B pillar.

Another thing that is offered from Golf GTI Sepang Edition includes 18-inch "Richmond" alloy rims with a gray gunmetal block, side stickers, black roofs, front spoilers, back diffusers, side skirts, and side rear rear rear rear rear rear mirrors.

Entering the cabin, the Sepang Edition is equipped with a Universal Traffic Recorder 2.0 (daxor camera) dashboard camera on the front and rear with a Sony Starvis night vision sensor.

Golf GTI Sepang Edition is also equipped with Volkswagen original film glasses and key hangers with certificates of authenticity. For exterior colors, Golf GTI Sepang Edition is available in Atlantic Blue and King's Red colors.

The driving system for GTI Sepang Edition remains using the GTI Mk8 standard golf system, with a four-cylinder gasoline engine with a turbocharged 2.0 liter engine that produces 245 PS power and 370 Nm torque, which drives the front wheels through the automatic transmission of the seven-speed wet double DSG.

Standard equipment includes XDS electronic differential keys, while various parameters can be adjusted via Vehicle Dynamics Manager with Dynamic Chassis Control.

Sepang International Circuit CEO Azhan Shafriman Hanif said the collaboration between the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and Volkswagen marks a new chapter of interest for Malaysian motorized sports culture.

"This collaboration is more than just a car launch, but also a celebration of identity, pride and shared spirit that characterizes SIC," he said.

Regarding the price, Volkswagen Golf GTI Sepang Edition is priced starting from 264,012 ringgit or around IDR 1.04 billion without insurance.
