JAKARTA - Kia Corporation advances its vision for sustainable and customer-centered mobility with the launch of Kia PV5. The model first arrived in Korea and will launch in Europe in the coming months, and will expand to the global market in 2026.

As Kia's first special Beyond Vehicle (PBV) platform, PV5 sets a bold new benchmark for business and personal mobility. Built on the next-generation 'E-GMP.S' PV5 all-electricity platform, PV5 combines modular design, ready-to-conversion flexibility, and advanced software connectivity.

Available in Passenger, Cargo, and Sasis Cab body styles, this provides measurable practical solutions for businesses and individuals.

Executive Vice President and Head of the PBV Business Division at Kia Corporation Sangdae Kim, said Kia PV5 is a modular, flexible, and ready-to-conversion solution that changes industries that adapt to modern business needs and modern lifestyles.

"With PV5, we provide new benchmarks in PBV technology that combine future-ready practicality, efficiency and innovation, supporting Kia's vision of leading a global shift towards sustainable and customer-centered mobility solutions," he said, quoted from his official website, Wednesday, October 8.

Kia PV5 was developed through the exclusive PBV process, which actively combines extensive and deep customer feedback from businesses around the world. Kia is in close collaboration with professional partners, including leading Uber mobility providers, to ensure that PV5's hardware, software and conversion ecosystem meets real-world requirements.

As part of this initiative, Kia organized 'PBV Partner Day' in 2022 and 2023, involving more than 120 customers from Korea, Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Japan.

Partner feedback directly forms key features such as a removable front passenger seat to maximize cargo space. Then the stain-resistant interior material designed to withstand everything from coffee spills to muddy work bot shoes. There is also a walk-through configuration on the High-Roof variant, allowing smooth movement between the cabin and the cargo area.

Regarding its performance, Kia PV5 comes in the first two options for passengers equipped with a choice of a 51.5 kWh or 71.2 kWh Nickel Kobalt Mangan (NCM) battery, which generates a motor output of up to 120 kW with a torque of 250 Nm. The resulting range is up to 412 km (WLTP, a 5-seater model with 71.2 kWh battery). Fast charging capability: all types of batteries charge up to 10 - 80 percent within 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, for the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) 43.3 kWh battery, the 51.5 kWh or 71.2 kWh Nikel Kobalt Mangan (NCM) battery, which generates a motor output of up to 120 kW with a torque of 250 Nm. Range up to 416 km (WLTP, long model with 71.2 kWh battery). Fast charging capability: all types of batteries charge up to 10 - 80 percent within 30 minutes.

To support customers in remote environments or outside the network, PV5 displays indoor and outdoor Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, supplying electricity up to 3.68 kW. This makes it an ideal solution for office work, camping, film projects, workplaces, or any outdoor settings where additional power is needed.
