Jaecool J7 AWD Offroad Ability Test: Tough Urban Car In Challenging Area

JAKARTA - Jaecool Indonesia stuck its nails in the country market by introducing the J7 SUV earlier this year consisting of variants of the Super Hybrid System (SHS) and all-wheel drive (AWD).

Unlike SHS which is intended for urban mobility, AWD is designed to pass through various challenging areas including off-roads.

To prove his ability, Jaecool Indonesia invited a number of media crews including the VOI team to try out J7 AWD in the "Media Test Drive" session which took place in BSD, South Tangerang. What kind of review? Here's the short review.

Charming Designs Like Range Rover

In terms of exterior design, J7 AWD has many similarities with the SHS type sold for the Indonesian market.

The car has a large grip with two LED main lights on both sides, becoming the real identity for this one SUV.

According to Jaecool, the car carries a design language inspired by the Range Rover car thanks to the joint venture between these two brands in China.

What distinguishes it from SHS is that the AWD type has a 19-inch multipalang rim with the 245/45 R19 tires to become the standard for the car.

Interior Prioritizes Comfort

Not only the exterior, Jaecoo also brought a touch of the Range Rover on this car combined with a modern touch.

Performance Achievements On Offroad

This car has a 4WD "Intelligent" system that can be claimed to have the ability to run on a number of different terrains such as sandy, mud, snow, and other areas.

At BSD, Jaecool J7 AWD is being tested on the road of the soil that has been wet due to the pouring rain in the middle of the event. However, this did not stop this SUV showing its superiority.

Thanks to the 4WD "Intelligent" system, this car is able to pass through various areas such as challenging mounds, muddy puddles, slippery areas, inclines, and derivatives.

However, this car had experienced a loss of grip in various areas because the tires being carried were not designed to go off the road. However, the system makes it smart to make it easier for the driver not to lose control of the car.

The off-road capability owned by Jaecool J7 AWD is also assisted by 1.6 TGDI engines, capable of vomiting up to 183 hp and a maximum torque of 275 Nm.

This tough-characteristic machine is combined with a dual-clutch transmission from Badminton, which is known for designing gear changes for Europe's top-performance cars.

Conclusion

Jaecool J7 AWD successfully passed various off-road areas well although there are still a number of shortcomings that make it more optimal in navigating challenging areas.

However, this car is perfect for customers who want to have a tough performance but still suitable for use in urban areas.
