Mercedes-AMG Introduces GT XX Concept, Prospective Electric Car King Entering Production Next Year

JAKARTA Mercedes-AMG officially introduced its newest car concept, GT XX, which provides a clear picture of a new electric performance model that is ready to enter the production line next year. With a stunning design and extraordinary power, GT XX marks a new chapter for Mercedes in the realm of future luxury electric vehicles.

Together, they designed CONCEPT AMG GT XX and paved the way for revolutionary drivetrain technology and future performance. Unlike the EQ line which tends to be round, reported by Car and Driver, GT XX comes with a low fastback silhouette and sporty, reminiscent of the current AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. The design, which dares to display a mouth-shaped goal in Maserati's style and the back, is tapered without a rear glass.

Behind the stunning appearance, GT XX carries a powertrain of three electric motors driving all wheels (all-wheel-drive). Two motorbikes are placed behind and one in front, using a power-intensive axial flux design. The total output generated reaches 1000 kW (equivalent to 1341 horse power), meaning that it exceeds the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with a power of 1019 cellphones. Mercedes-AMG projects the highest speed of this car to reach 223 mph (about 358 km/hour).

Innovative Fastness And Architecture Charging

GT XX is built on the new AMG.EA architecture, with an 800-volt electrical system that introduces innovative battery technology. Although battery capacity has not been announced, AMG emphasizes the high and thin use of battery cells, as well as a special cooling system that promises very consistent performance.

One of Mercedes' boldest claims is charging speed. GT XX is said to be capable of reaching an average charging speed of 850 kilowatts, allowing for an additional 248-mile (about 399 km) range of just five minutes. Of course, this will depend on the availability of compatible DC fast-chargers. Mercedes and European charging company, Alpitronic, have created a prototype charger capable of doing so and plan to launch it to the public in the near future.

The interior of GT XX also shows a change of direction. Although still equipped with two large screens, it looks more focused on drivers and minimalists, with attractive orange accents and a clean center console. AMG is also committed to sustainability, using recycled materials including synthetic skin made from GT3 racing tire recycled rubber. Light seats with carbon fiber structures and square-shaped steering wheels are inspired by the cockpit of racing cars.

Although the production version's official name has not been confirmed, it is expected to continue using the "GT" moniker. Mercedes-AMG says that the new model will begin production in 2026 and is expected to be priced at a quite fantastic price.
