JAKARTA - PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) will launch an update on Omoda 5 and change its name to Chery C5 for the Indonesian market.

This model will come with a number of changes in the exterior that emphasize the impression of sporty and have a classy touch that is stylish.

PT CSI's Head of Brand Department, Rifkie Setiawan, said the model was an ideal choice for each individual with various needs based on input from consumers.

"We hear the dynamic needs of consumers and continue to adapt innovation to a modern lifestyle. With the stylish fastback crossover design, smart technology, and powerful performance, we believe the latest C5 is an ideal choice for individuals who want to express their strong character through the vehicle they use," Rifkie said in his opening sentence during the first impression with the media at QBig BSD, Tangerang, Monday, June 23.

The change that can be seen in the Chery C5 is that the front display is more stylish but without reducing the strong impression bygrill adopting a pattern called frameless diamond.

Next, the compact-body SUV also has an LED arrow-shaped light that highlights the sophisticated and modern impressions of urban cars.

The side has a strong and elegant impression with the embedding of the Sports Black Alloy Wheels looking luxurious.

Changes are also seen in the interior that embeds more premium memorable materials, including a Faux leather coated seat and the presence of a digital screen of 10.25 inches of HD is more intuitive.

The manufacturer also made changes in terms of performance by utilizing a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder machine combined with six dual-clutch (DCT) transmissions.

This combination of machines and transmission provides more impressive performance with a power of 145 hp and a maximum torque of 230 Nm. The Automatic Engine Shut-Off feature is also presented which functions in turning off the engine in a state of stoppage, so it can contribute to fuel efficiency.

Along with its performance, Chery also changed the tuning of the MacPherson suspension at the front and Multi-lini at the back so that it felt more comfortable than before.

Chery has yet to give the car an official price, but it is certain that it will launch on Wednesday, June 25 tomorrow.
