The Luxury Sedan Maextro S800 From The Huawei-JAC Collaboration Is Confirmed To Launch May 30

JAKARTA The latest automotive brand produced by the collaboration of technology giants Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), named Maextro, is ready to launch its first model, the luxury sedan Maextro S800, on May 30, 2025. This announcement was made by the Huawei HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) division through their official Weibo account today, reported by CnEVPost.

The launch of the Maextro S800 marks a new chapter for Huawei in the automotive industry. Maextro is the fourth brand built by Huawei with local car companies under the HIMA umbrella, and is positioned the most premium.

Previously, Huawei was also known to have collaborated with BAIC Group (Stelato), Seres Group (Aito), and Chery (Luxeed). In fact, on April 16, Huawei also introduced the fifth brand under HIMA, SAIC Shangjie, which was built with SAIC Motor.

According to information previously conveyed by Huawei, the Makextro S800 is expected to be priced at between 1 million yuan to 1.5 million (approximately IDR 2.2 billion-IDR 3.4 billion). This luxury sedan was first introduced on November 26, 2024 and has opened an initial order since last November.

"Maextro S800 will redefine flagship imagination with technology," HIMA wrote on Weibo, giving a slight leak of the advantages offered.

This car will be the first model built on Huawei's second-generation Tuling smart chassis system and designed with a smart driving L3 architecture. In dimensions, Maextro S800 has a length of 5,480 mm, a width of 2,000 mm, a height of 1,536 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm.

Interestingly, the Maextro S800 will be available in two driving options: extended electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV), both of which come with a dual or three motorcycle option.

The presence of Maextro S800 will enliven the luxury sedan market in China, which has been dominated by luxury German automotive manufacturers such as Mercedes-Maybach to Rolls Royce Ghost.

The launch of the Maextro S800 is scheduled to start at 19.30 Beijing time on May 30.
