Mazda EZ-6 Has A New Variant In China, Looks Striking

JAKARTA - Mazda has introduced the EZ-6 to the Chinese market since last year while affirming the brand's commitment to electrification developments.

Not only that, the car from the results of the Changan-Mazda joint venture was expanded with the launch of its newest variant, namely the EZ-6 Sports Edition with a suitable style for young people.

Reporting from CarNewsChina, Tuesday, May 20, the sedan retains the same design language as the standard EZ-6 Grill and a separate front light.

However, the thing that distinguishes this variant from the standard is that its grip features a black exterior trim with a red caliber brake cover, leaving a sporty and dynamic impression.

Moving to the inside, EZ-6 Sports Edition has a black alcantara seat with striking red contrasting stitches.

Additional dark trim elements appear in the central console and air ventilation. The overall design focuses on smooth visual differentiation rather than structural changes.

The manufacturer based in Hiroshima, Japan did not mention in more detail the technical specifications for the EZ-6 Sports Edition. However, it is estimated that the model will be available in pure EREV or EV variants as standard.

Behind the hood, this fully electric version is powered by a behind motorbike of 190 kW with two battery options, which result in a distance of 480 km or 600 km (CLTC). Charging from 30 percent to 80 percent only takes 15 minutes.

The EREV model combines a 1.5L engine that produces 70 kW with a 160 kW motorcycle, which offers a combined distance of up to 1,301 km. Charging from 30 percent to 80 percent takes 20 minutes, so it's versatile for long-distance travel.

Unfortunately, Mazda does not want to reveal the price of this special type. As an illustration, the standard EZ-6 is pegged at a value of 139,800 to 179,800 yuan or equivalent to Rp318.5 million to Rp409.7 million.
