JAKARTA - Automotive manufacturer from Sweden, Volvo confirmed that it will present XC70 globally. More than that, the SUV-shaped car will be the first long-distance plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicle to be presented by the brand.
The car also answered the high demand for long-distance PHEV vehicles, especially for the Chinese market.
Volvo Cars CEO, Hakan Samuelsson said the presence of XC70 provides other alternatives to customers who are not ready to buy electric vehicles.
"This car allows us to maintain and develop a balanced product portfolio, as well as offer a very attractive alternative for customers who are not fully ready for electric cars," Samuelsson was quoted as saying on Volvo's official website, Thursday, May 8.

Just like any other Volvo model, XC70 reflects the modern touch of a Scandinavian region vehicle with an authoritative and resilient design. It is decorated by a flowing silhouette and a closed jar attached to the front.
The Grill can be opened and closed automatically to optimize aerodynamics, cabin climate, and cooling on engines. It is hoped that this feature can contribute to expanding its reach.
XC70 is also equipped with an LED Matrix technology that allows the headlights to adapt intelligently to road and traffic situations.
This car is built on the Scalable Modular Architecture (SMA) platform which is expected to provide a distance of pure electricity of up to 200 km. Unfortunately, Volvo has not disclosed the total comprehensive reach of XC70.
The Swedish manufacturer will reveal more details of XC70 in the next few months.
