MG4 Latest Generation EV Introduced In China, Many Changes

JAKARTA - SAIC Motor, which houses the MG brand in China, introduced the latest generation MG4 EV, which this time comes with significant changes, from design to dimension.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Thursday, March 20, the presence of the latest generation of MG4 EVs is certainly nothing but to boost sales of the brand in China, especially for the less popular MG4 EV.

This latest generation of MG4 EV complete information was shared by the local Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). So what updates are presented?

This British brand now comes with a new dimension of 4,395 mm long, 1,842 mm wide, 1,551 mm high with a wheelbase of 2,759 mm. This figure is much larger than the previous generation, which has a length dimension of 4,287 mm, a width of 1,836 mm, a height of 1,516 mm.

In an exterior design, it changes completely, both from the front, door, to the back. In addition, the structure of the A and C pillars is also redesigned. Overall, it appears to be inspired by the larger MG3 by taking the force from the MG Cyberster electric Roadster.

Meanwhile, on the back of the MG4 EV now has an arrow-shaped wide light strip, like what's on the MG Cyberster.

In addition, MG4 is powered by the TZ180XS1001 electric motor with a peak power of 120 kW and a top speed of 160 km/h. The zero weight is 1,485 kg. In comparison, MG4 currently has a slightly more powerful but heavier 125 kW motor, with an empty weight of 1,641 kg.

The battery pack will have an lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from Rept Battery Energy, unfortunately the distance is not disclosed in detail.

The presence of this latest generation is certainly highly anticipated, especially since it is quite popular in various parts of the world, including Indonesia.
