Present In Indonesia, Xpeng Will Assemble Two Models Locally Starting In Semester Two 2025

JAKARTA - The national automotive industry has returned to the arrival of another new brand from China, namely Xpeng. The brand officially started its steps in the country by introducing two models, namely G6 and X9.

Handled by the Erajaya Active Lifestyle (ERAL), the brand will later offer environmentally friendly models in premium classes for the national market. However, Xpeng's presence in Indonesia does not only offer mobility needs.

The CEO of the Automotive Innovation Era, Iki Wibowo, said that his party has plans to assemble Xpeng vehicles in Indonesia located in Purwakarta.

"In Indonesia, we will plan to cooperate with local partners and produce at the Purwakarta factory, West Java," said Wibowo when answering reporters' questions after the Grand Launching Xpeng event at Langham Hotel, SCBD, Jakarta, Friday, February 28.

Xpeng's Vice Chairman and Co-President, Brian Gu, added that his party will assemble the two vehicles, namely G6 and X9 which are expected to be realized in the second half of this year.

"Hopefully it can start in the second half of this year. For the model, we prioritize the G6 and X9 which will be assembled locally," added Brian Gu.

He explained that his party would cooperate with a number of local partners to strengthen the factory and in terms of regular sales services for consumers in Indonesia.

"Our agenda is working with the government and local partners to strengthen it," explained Brian Gu.

The presence of Xpeng to the Indonesian market is a significant step made by brands globally, especially for the Asian market.
