JAKARTA - Leapmotor has strengthened its position in the global automotive industry by establishing a partnership with Stellantis some time ago by establishing a joint venture called Leapmotor International BV.
Through this partnership, the manufacturer from China presents several models that are expanded to the rest of the world, one of which is C10.
The presence of the C10 model is one of the breakthroughs made by Leapmotor in the global market. However, this SUV-shaped car still has a number of shortcomings.
It is stated that the current C10 Leapmotor does not have the connectivity technology of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which has become the standard for the latest output cars. However, the manufacturer says that this advanced feature will be present in its latest generation model.
Head of Product and Marketing Lapmotor International, Francesco Giacalone said his party had no plans to bring the connectivity feature to the current generation of C10, although it has been equipped with over-the-air updates.
"Until now, C10 comes without Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features," Giacalone said as quoted by Drive, Wednesday, January 29.

Giacalone explained that the C10 model is still equipped with old technology and now only provides QDLink features, as a substitute for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay which can be linked via Bluetooth.
"So, this QDLink will function like Google Maps while keeping Bluetooth function active for phone calls and other activities in the vehicle," Giacalone added.
Nonetheless, Giacalone ensures other models such as B10 will have a 3.5 operating system that can accommodate Android Auto and Apple CarPlay operations.
"With B10, we introduced the 3.5 operating system with a new electronic architecture and B10 will have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay," explained Giacalone.
Competing in the D-SUV segment, the C10 Leapmotor comes with impressive dimensions, namely 4,739 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, 1,680 mm high, and 2.825 mm wheelbase.
Built on the LEAP3.0 platform, the SUV is designed to meet the needs of the family, with a rear-wheeled single electric motor that produces 218 PS and a 320 Nm torque. This allows acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds with a peak speed of 170 km/hour.
Using a lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 69.9 kWh, the C10 Leapmotor offers a distance of up to 424 km according to WLTP standards. Charging is also quite fast, with the ability to fill from 30 percent to 80 percent within 30 minutes.
