Genesis Reveals Complete Specification Of GV80 Desert Edition, Has BEEN TRIED By Why Ickx Is 6,000 Km

JAKARTA - Earlier this year, Genesis quietly presented a GV80 Desert Edition inspired by the extreme-conditioned Reli Dakar iconist competition.

Now, the automotive manufacturer from South Korea has inaugurated the launch of this formidable SUV and its more complete specifications have been revealed. This car is designed more strongly than the standard version.

Launching from the manufacturer's official website, Wednesday, January 22, the GV80 Desert Edition has a longer form of 40 mm on the front and back to accommodate 20-inch beam-rock advanced rims with all-field tires specially designed.

On the front, the car has an Intelligent Front Lighting System developed by Genesis connected to the Baja Designs lighting system.

It combines additional LED lights on fog lights, A pillars, and roofs to provide extraordinary visibility.

In addition to accommodating LED lightsbars, the recommended roof racks are also equipped with seats for fuel cylinders, sandboards, and rooftops.

Genesis GV80 Dakar Edition is decorated with a unique blue bodywork with a single white line pattern inspired by the helmet worn by the racing legend and brand Ambassador of this brand, totaling Ickx.

The SUV is supported by a suspension system that can be adjusted and improved comprehensively for desert conditions, thus providing maximum ground clearance, more optimal subsidence, and increasing stability on both soft and rocky sandy roads.

This car comes with a special arrangement to drive in the desert, namely Intelligent Drive Mode which optimizes powertrains for the toughest conditions while strengthening its tough performance.

In the cargo area, this car has an integrated drawer system that stores full-size spare wheels, essential equipment and emergency equipment, with additional compartments consisting of first aid, water supplies, and communication devices.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not disclosed the powertrain carried by this car. However, the possibility of Genesis GV80 Desert Edition equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 engine powered by 409 hp and a 549 Nm torque combined with an automatic transmission of eight accelerations.

According to the manufacturer, the GV80 Desert Edition has been driven byANG Ickx for 6,000 km on the Reli Dakar route this year which took place from the City of Bhasha to Shubaytah, Saudi Arabia.
