Lotus E21, Which Was Ever Drivered By Kimi Raikkonen, Will Be Auctioned, The Estimated Price

JAKARTA - A Formula 1 (F1) Lotus E21 car entered the RM Sothebys auction market. An interesting thing is that the car was once driven by the once-time world champion from Finland, Kimi Raikkonen in the 2013 season.

Launching from the official website of RM Sotheby's, Monday, January 20, cars with the code of chassis E21-04 were included in 12 races since the British Grand Prix in mid-2013 season at that time with five races being driven by Kimi Raikkonen and the remaining seven races driven by his French teammate, Romain Grosjean.

This car is wrapped in a black base with charming gold turns, as well as turning Lotus' identity over with investment firm Genii Capital into the team's main sponsor and shareholder at the time.

The presence of the E21-04 chassis is expected to continue a positive streak at the beginning of the 2013 season, where Raikkonen won the opening round at the Australian Grand Prix, which was followed by the second position in three consecutive races in China, Bahrain, and Spain. On the other hand, Grosjean at that time was quite determined in several opening races and his best achievement was in third place in Bahrain.

The English team presented the E21-04 chassis at the British Grand Prix with Raikkonen driving the car. As a result, the Finnish racer received the fifth position in the entire race.

Then the next race at the German Grand Prix, Raikkonen won second place behind Sebastian Vettel and won another runner-up at the Hungarian Grand Prix following Lewis Hamilton.

Meanwhile at the Belgian Grand Prix, Raikkonen had to finish the race early on lap 25 due to problems with his braking system. Then at the Italian Grand Prix, the man who was born in the city of Espoo had to get zero points after only successfully finishing in eleventh place.

After that, chassis E21-04 was moved to Grosjean starting in the Singapore Grand Prix round. Unfortunately, the racer number 8 had to end the race on lap 37 because he had problems with the pneumatic system on his car.

However, Grosjean managed to win third place in three consecutive races, namely Korea, Japan, and India. In Abu Dhabi, the 1986-born racer had to settle for finishing in fourth place and achieving runners-up in the United States (US).

Unfortunately, the E21-04 trip had to close with Grosjean having engine problems on lap 2 in the final race of the 2013 season in Brazil.

The car with a Renault 2.4 liter V8 powered by 750 hp contributed to the team finishing in fourth position in the constructor category in the 2013 season. In addition, Kimi Raikkonen ended the season in fifth place and Romain Grosjean was in seventh place in the racer rankings.

Lotus E21-04 will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby's which will take place in Paris, France on February 5 with an estimated price of 350,000-450,000 euros (equivalent to IDR 5.914 billion to IDR 7.604 billion).
