Appearing At CES 2025, This Is A Solar Three-wheeled Electric Car From Aptera

JAKARTA - The Aptera startup company has just launched a production version of the three-wheeled solar-powered electric car at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, Las Vegas, United States (US) which will last until 11 January.

Quoting from the Electrek page, Thursday, January 9, the electric car is said to be starting to be produced and sent to customers starting at the end of 2025.

Aptera itself has a long history in the automotive sector, where originally this startup company was founded in 2006 by Steve Fambro and Chris Anthony. The car design is the same, but at that time this car will use a small gas engine that promises a distance of 330 miles (531 km).

However, the brand encountered many obstacles and was officially closed in 2011 and had to return thousands of customer deposits who wanted to propose to the vehicle.

Then, in 2019, the company was re-launched by the same early founders as before. This time, the company has a solar-powered electric car.

Back to CES 2025, the brand showcases a highly efficient three-wheeled prototype and is mostly powered by solar panels. The most important thing to note is that Aptera plans to actually produce this prototype.

This vehicle was developed with the help of Italian Pininfarina designers using some of their resources. The car has impressive 0.13 Cd barrier coefficients, making it a very efficient EV.

The car is also equipped with 700W of integrated solar panels, and the panel can produce a distance of up to 40 miles or 64 km. Meanwhile, in sunny climate areas, this panel will give owners more than 10,000 miles (16 thousand km) per year of solar-powered travel.

Aptera said it would soon announce other things related to the vehicle battery pack, and it anticipates it will test the race track to attract investors.
