GWM Tank 500 Hi4-Z Officially Launches, Large Hybrid SUV Suitable for Urban Areas

JAKARTA - Great Wall Motor (GMW) through the Tank brand officially launched the Tank 500 Hi4-Z which will be a strong challenger to the Fang Cheng Bao brand from BYD.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Thursday, January 2, this hybrid Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) car comes with offroad performance that is more oriented towards urban users and is priced at 363,800 yuan or around Rp. 807 million.

In terms of design, the Tank 500 Hi4-Z has the same exterior design as the Tank 500 Hi4-T hybrid SUV which was launched in 2023, and is the first New Energy Vehicle (NEV) model from Tank.

The design is masculine and makes this one car look dashing, in terms of dimensions, the Tank 500 Hi4-Z comes with a length of 5,078 mm, a width of 1,934 mm, and a height of 1,905 mm and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

However, this latest model comes with a special red and white gradient paint, and is claimed to have greater power, more efficiency and a longer service life for urban use.

The model is powered by dual electric motors, the front motor produces 215 kW of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque, while the rear motor produces 240 kW of peak power and 415 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain enables the Tank 500 Hi4-Z to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

It is powered by a 59.05 kWh ternary Li-ion battery and has a WLTC battery range of 201 kilometers. With a full tank of fuel and a full charge, the Tank 500 Hi4-Z has a combined range of 1,096 kilometers.

The model is built on an 800 V high-voltage platform and can be charged at up to 163 kW, allowing it to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in 15 minutes.
