Mercedes-AMG Tests First High Performance EV SUV, Potentially Launching In 2025

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz is known to be developing a number of its newest electric cars (EVs) to be launched in the future, some of which come from high-performance segments from AMG division.

The German automaker also confirmed that it is testing a Mercedes-AMG SUV which will later become the second model to carry the latest AMG.EA architecture.

Based on information on the brand's official website, Friday, December 13, the car is now being tested on public roads for the first time as well as an important milestone for the brand.

In addition, the brand nicknamed the three-point star' will conduct another test near the Arctic Circle at temperatures well below freezing so that the car can be thoroughly tested in various extreme conditions.

The new SUV also shows the pioneering role of high performance driving in innovative all-electric architectures, including the use of axial flux motors and the concept of new high-performance batteries.

It also continued the agenda of testing the high-performance EV car Mercedes-AMG, following the electric version of GT 4-door testing which was in the form of a coup.

Even though it is presented in the electricity version, this car still maintains a long front hood that can accommodate engines and windshields that are more assertive than usual.

While more complete information is still limited, the manufacturer has confirmed that the model will use the first platform developed by Mercedes-AMG for high-performance EVs, the latest AMG.EA.

Unfortunately, the presence of GT 4-door and EV SUVs developed by Mercedes-AMG is still a mystery. However, it is hoped that the production of the first model with the platform will launch in 2025.
