JAKARTA - BYD confirmed that it will present the Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Super Dual Mode (DM) model to Malaysia.

Quoting from the Paultan page, Monday, September 9, this certainty is based on the statement from the President Director of BYD Malaysia Eagle Zhao. He revealed that BYD plans to introduce an efficiency-focused DM-i engine, as well as a powered DM-p.

The Sealion 6 model that has been sold in Thailand is the strongest candidate. This one car in the White Elephant Country is priced at 939,900 baths or around Rp428 million, and comes only in one variant, namely Dynamic.

In specifications, the car is equipped with a single electric motor on the front which produces 197 PS and 300 Nm of torque power, paired with a four cylinder engine of 1.5 liters Xiaoyun naturally-assisted Atkinson-cycle powered by 98 PS and 122 Nm. The total system output is considered at 218 PS and 300 Nm, which makes Sealion 6 accelerate from 0-100 km/hour in 8.5 seconds.

The electric motor is powered by a Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 18.3 kWh which provides a full range of 92 km of electricity, which contributes to a combined gasoline-electric distance of 1,092 km.

The battery also supports DC fast charging, although only up to 18 kW, which takes 35 minutes to recharge the battery from 30 to 80 percent.

In addition to the models above, there is one possibility that will also be present in Malaysia, namely BYD Han and Tang and Denza N8. In addition, there is also Bao 5 which is an off-road model of the Fangchengbao brand, this model was also introduced at Malaysia Autoshow last May.

Will the PHEV version also be present in Indonesia? Of course it should be awaited because BYD Indonesia will launch its newest model this year.
