JAKARTA - Competition in the electric hatchback segment is getting tighter with the presence of Geome Xingyuan, a new competitor to BYD Dolphin. This latest model is a product of Geely, who recently revealed an official image of the car.

Geome, formerly known as Geometry and an independent brand under Geely Group, has changed after its sales were less than satisfactory. Now, Geome is reintegrated into Geely as a special series. To date, the Geome product line includes six models, namely Panda Mini, Panda Knight, G6, M6, E, and A. Soon, the Xingyuan hatchback will become the newest member in the Geome family.

According to a report from Carnewschina, Tuesday, September 3, Geome Xingyuan comes with a fresh and modern design. This electric car has a sleek body with fine lines, unique headlights, and a black roof that adds to the sporty impression. On the interior, the car is equipped with a variety of advanced features, such as a one-stop steering wheel, small LCD instrument, and some practically glassy compartments and wireless charging.

Geely has applied for a sales license for the Chinese market, with a length-dimensional specification of 4,135 mm, a width of 1,805 mm, a height of 1,570 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. When compared to BYD Dolphin, Geome Xingyuan is slightly longer and wider, although the wheelbase is shorter.

This car is powered by a TZ160XS001 electric motor from GLB Power which is capable of generating 78 hp of power. The maximum standard variant speed reaches 125 km/hour, while a higher variant can go up to 135 km/hour. The LFP battery made by CATL is available in two options, namely the first with a capacity of 30.12 kWh with a distance of 310 km in CLTC counts, while for a battery of 40.15 kWh it can cover a distance of 410 km in the same count.

Regarding prices, this model is rumored to be sold for around 80,000 yuan or around Rp. 174 million. As is known, BYD Dolphin in China is priced at 99,000 yuan or around Rp. 215 million, so much more expensive than Geely's model.
