Suzuki Releases Jimny's Special Edition As The Final Offering For The German Market

JAKARTA - Earlier this month, Suzuki announced it would stop a number of models for the European market including Jimny LCV. As a sign of farewell, the manufacturer bearing the 'S' logo presents a special edition of the model for the German market.

Carrying the name Jimny Horizon, this manufacturer from Japan presents it in a limited way, only 900 units. Due to the special edition, there are a number of differences when compared to the standards ranging from bodykit to additional accessories.

Launching Carscoops, Thursday, July 11, this special edition comes with a retro grILL featuring the letter 'Suzuki' with an aluminum-style skin plate in the bumper, side skirt matching, and a Suzuki-branded Reserved rim cover. In addition, this model is equipped with a set of mud flips, complementing black steel.

Jimny Horizon will be offered exclusively in medium Gray, combined with black stickers. The accessories package includes trailer barriers that can be removed for those who want to use the off-roader back of the ladder for pullers.

Suzuki presents this model with a two-seater configuration on its interior. This car is claimed to have a cargo space of up to 863 liters.

For the internal combustion component, the car is equipped with a 1.5 liter naturally-assisted engine that pumps 101 dk of power and a 130 Nm torque is coupled to a manual transmission channeled to the driver of all wheels (AWD).

Speaking of prices, the Suzuki Jimny Horizon will be available for the German market with a tag worth 32,340 euros (IDR 567.4 million) or more expensive than its basic variant of 29,490 euros (IDR 517.3 million).

Suzuki is also preparing for electrification by immediately presenting a hybrid version of Jimny which has the potential to be present in 2024 or 2025. It is possible that the manufacturer will implement it in a 1.5 liter mid-hybrid machine.

In addition, Suzuki also confirmed Jimny will be presented again in the form of a pure electric vehicle (EV) that will make his debut on the blue continent in 2030 as one of the five EVs the brand will launch in Europe.

It is reported that this model will retain Jimny's design with three doors showing the graphics of the headlights being re-changed. Apart from Europe, the model is also offered in Japanese and Indian markets.
