JAKARTA - Luxeed, a Chinese car brand from Huawei and Chery collaboration, has just released a photo of his latest model, Luxeed R7, a first business couple SUV from this manufacturer.

Citing the CNevpost page, Wednesday, June 12, Luxeed has launched the first model of this new brand in the form of a Luxeed S7 sedan on November 28, 2023.

Huawei Managing Director and Chairman of the Smart Vehicle Solutions Business Unit, Richard Yu, revealed that the name 'R' on the model has a special meaning.

"Huruf R comes from Revolution which means breakthrough and annoyance," Yu said on the Weibo page.

By design, citing the Carscoops page, this car looks modern and futuristic, with a design language that is at first glance similar to the Aito model, Huawei and Seres collaboration brands. In the front fasia section, this car is equipped with a sharp-looking LED all-time light. Interestingly, the Luxeed R7 is also equipped with LiDAR which supports Huawei's automatic ADS 3.0 Qiankun driving system.

There are no details yet regarding the interior, but it will most likely be similar to the S7 model. It is estimated that there will be a 15.6-inch screen running on the HarmonyOS system, as well as a wider cabin.

Regarding performance, although engine details have not been revealed, the BEV and EV versions of Luxeed R7 are rumored to carry an 800V architecture and use a high voltage silicon carbide battery. This car will be available with a single electric motor powered by 288 hp, and a range of 855 km.

For the price, the Luxeed R7 is estimated to be in the range of 300,000-400,000 yuan, or around Rp673-898 million. Can this model compete in the Chinese market? Only time will tell.
