BMW Gives Big Discounts To XM Models In The US, Here's Why

JAKARTA - BMW XM, the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) gets a discount of up to 10 percent in the United States (US) market. What's the problem?

According to a Cars Direct report, Friday, June 7, BMW dealers have cut their price by 17,500 US dollars (Rp284.2 million) with a credit system. However, customers who want to pay it are directly subject to a discount of 15,000 US dollars (Rp243 million). Unfortunately, however, the price after the discount is considered still high. It is known, in the US this car was originally priced at 159,995 US dollars (equivalent to Rp2.5 billion).

In addition, customers can also get a discount of 15,000 US dollars with an APR agreement or interest rate, financing XM at 3.99 percent to 60 months.

This is not the first time this high-performance vehicle has received a large discount in Uncle Sam's country. Last November, this German manufacturer offered a loan loan of 9,900 US dollars (Rp160.7 million) through BMW Financial which ended on July 1.

Of course, manufacturers offer discounts on this model instead of for no reason. The XM model is not one of BMW's best-selling products. This is evidenced by the SAV that 1,906 units in the US were sold last year. While in the first quarter of 2024 it sold up to 541 units.

BMW XM is known as the fastest SAV ever produced by this manufacturer, especially in the BMW XM Red Label variant. This car combines conventional V8 engine power with an electric motor powered, resulting in impressive dynamic performance.

Through the synergy of the two driving units, the standard BMW XM variant is able to produce peak power up to 653 dk which is channeled through the M Hybrid system. This great force is the result of a combination of combustion engines with a power of 489 dk and a 197 dk electric motor.

With the embedded Plug-In Hybrid technology, BMW XM can also rely on pure electric power to go up to a distance of 80 km.

Performance advantages are not the only thing that BMW XM has highlighted. The tough design is reinforced by the touch of M high-gloss Shadowline, an aerodynamic package from the M division, a legendary BMWian grILL, and a lightweight but high-powered 23-inch rim from the top performance line.

More than just a tempting look, BMW XM also offers comfort and top luxury. This can be seen in M's accent on the steering wheel and seat belt that emits a sporty aura.

BMW XM has also marked its debut in Indonesia through the GIIAS 2023 event with a price tag of Rp6.4 billion On The Road DKI Jakarta, making it one of the most expensive cars ever presented by this premium brand in the country.
