Bentley Continental GT The Latest Generation Will Be Born This June

JAKARTA - Recently, Bentley announced plans to launch the latest Continental GT this June. Another interesting thing, this luxury sedan will be powered by Ultra Performance Hybrid technology for the first time.

Reporting from the brand's official website, Saturday, May 18, this fourth generation sedan is powered by a 4.0 liter V8 engine that can generate 782 ps of power and a 1.000 Nm torque. Due to plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system support, this car can run with pure power up to 80 km.

According to the company, this car only emits CO2 emissions under 50 g/km, as well as being one of the Bentley models that has low emission capability.

The Continental GT was first introduced in 2002 and at the same time marks the resurgence of this iconic brand. The car aims to transform the business, encourage a tenfold increase in sales and redefine Bentley for the modern era.

The model took inspiration from R Type Continental, which was born in 1952, the world's fastest four-seat car in the world at its time, which defines Grand Tourer's luxury.

In four years, the car had a significant impact on Bentley sales from 1,000 units to more than 10,000 units. Then, the second-generation Continental GT was launched in Paris in 2010, with orders taken from October and deliveries starting in early 2011.

The second generation was launched with W12, but was followed by a new 4.0 liter V8 option introduced in 2012. The third generation followed in 2018, based on new platforms made specifically and with new engines, new suspensions, new electrical architectures, new technologies, as well as new interior and exterior designs.

At the beginning of next year, the 10,000th unit of GT Continental will soon be born which is designed with expert hands at the Bentley Dream Factory factory, Crewe, England.
