Cloud EV To Be MG Labeled In India, Price Equivalent To IDR 380 Million

JAKARTA - Cloud EV is one of Wuling's mainstay electric cars in the Indonesian market, but this model is reported to soon penetrate the Indian market but is under the label Morris Garage (MG).

It's no surprise that MG and Wuling are under the auspices of the same company, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC). This allows both to share the platform, as MG did by presenting an Air EV Comet EV in India.

The EV cloud has a length of 4,300 mm and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, making it very suitable for the Indian market. Interestingly, the price of this car has been leaked to the public.

According to a report from Autocar India, Wednesday, May 15, the British manufacturer is likely to set the price of the Cloud EV below 2 million rupees (approximately IDR 384.9 million), making it a formidable competitor to Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.

The report also states that the key to this competitive pricing is the high level of localization, including in the manufacture of battery packages.

The design of the Cloud EV looks elegant, both exterior and interior. The interior offers a wide space with the use of high-quality materials throughout the cabin.

The model will be available in two battery pack options: 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh, which offer a range of 360 km and 460 km, respectively. The car is also equipped with an electric motor installed at the front, generating 134 dk of power.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Wuling has opened an order for Cloud EV at a price of IDR 410 million, which includes a 10 percent tax cut. The first unit delivery is scheduled for May.
