Become A Mainstay Model, GWM Tank 800 Will Debut By The End Of 2024

JAKARTA - The Great Wall Motors (GWM) brand of vehicles from China has various car models that are quite interesting, including the concept model of Tank 800 which was translucent at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Saturday, May 11, there is the latest news about the car (Tank 800) which is said to be launching at the end of 2024, as revealed by Chief Growth Officer of Great Wall Motor, Li Ruifeng.

"Tank 800 will launch at the end of this year. The largest SUV from the GWM Tank brand will be the mainstay model," the tweet read.

There is no detailed explanation about this one car but it is predicted that Tank 800 is almost ready to be produced, because several times it was caught on camera testing on the road.

At the beginning of last year, February 21, this car was caught on camera testing the road even though it was covered in full camouflage. However, it can be seen that the car is not much different from the concept that was exhibited in 2021. Similar to the Tank 500 model which was enlarged with a straight grip paired with a square light.

Meanwhile, the interior of this car is similar to the 500 Tank, especially on the central console, but there are some decorations embedded in the form of chrome making it look special.

Although details have not been disclosed, it is estimated that this car will use the same engine as the 700 Hi4-T Tank considering its dimension is also large. If true, this car will carry a hybrid cable system built with a 3.0 T V6 engine. The engine is combined with a P2 electric motor that produces a combined output of 385 kW and a maximum torque of 800 Nm.

Regarding prices, it is predicted that around 500,000 yuan will be sold or around Rp. 1.1 billion. However, the figure above is a prediction, so it cannot be used as a benchmark.

As is known, GWM continues to develop its product lineup, currently there are 300 Tanks, 330, 400, 500 to 700. In Indonesia, there is only the 500 Tank model that has landed and has been sold, and 300 Tanks have just been introduced.
