Mercedes Presents Improvements To Van Sprinter And ESprinter, More Sophisticated Than Previously

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz, a premium automotive manufacturer from Germany, announced the launch of the 2025 Sprinter and eSprinter model by bringing a number of improvements ranging from features to additional configurations to be selected by customers.

According to an order from CarBuzz, Tuesday, April 16, the two vans come with the latest multifunctional steering wheel with a standard capacitive sensor. Then, rain sensors, front door handles, and a tire pressure monitoring system for double rear wheel drive types are also presented.

In addition, both of them also get the latest MBUX interface technology, including a 10.25-inch screen display. According to manufacturers, the computing power of this system has been increased so that it becomes faster with more intuitive control than before.

Users are also made easier with advanced voice assistant features. By saying 'Hi, Mercedes', users have control in carrying out various cabin settings, one of which is turning on a hot seat.

Other advanced features are also present in this van with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Meanwhile, over-the-air renewal technology is also embedded to make it easier for this model to receive a number of the latest features during the van's use period.

For safety features, Sprinters and eSprinters have a Brave Assist system that has a function of reminding drivers of vehicles that drive or cross at a speed of 60 km/hour. In fact, this system can also notify drivers of dangerous overtake maneuvers from other motorists who drive 70 km/hour and can control the steering at 40 km/hour if they detect an accident.

In addition, the newly introduced Sideguard Assist keeps drivers alert to the surrounding environment of vehicles, such as an advanced active blind spot monitor.

For the heartpiece, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is only offered in the diesel option for the ICE version. Thus, the van is equipped with a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine offering two choices of 168 dk and 208 dk power with a transmission of nine automatic accelerations and rear wheels.

Meanwhile, in the electric version of the model, namely eSprinter, it has an electric motorcycle measuring 134 dk and the highest is 201 dk, both of which offer similar torques of up to 400 Nm.

With an 81 kWh battery, this model can travel with a range of up to 297 miles or 328 km and a 113 kWh battery can reach a range of 297 miles or 477 km according to the WLTP cycle.

This car has AC and DC charging capabilities. For DC fast charging, the van can charge 10-80 percent about 30 minutes. Furthermore, the maximum charging speed is pegged at 115 kW.

The German manufacturer has opened an ordering period for these two models. Selling prices for Sprinters start at 43,504 euros (IDR 746.6 million), while eSprinters are worth 47,591 euros (IDR 816.8 million). Both models will arrive at the showroom starting in the second half of 2024.
