First Revision Of BMW I5 EDrive40 M Sport In Malaysia

JAKARTA - After four months of its official launch, the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport underwent its first revision in Malaysia. This electric model has undergone several changes.

Quoting from the Paultan page, Thursday, March 14, the i5 price has now increased by 300 ringgit, or less than Rp. 1 million, and is currently sold at a price of 399,800 ringgit, or around Rp. 1.3 billion with a standard two-year warranty without a travel distance limit.

Several changes have been made, including an increase in AC's internal charging three phases from 11 kW to 22 kW. This reduces the time required for full charging to just 4 hours 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, for DC fast charging, there is no change, with speeds up to 205 kW, and able to recharge batteries from zero to 80 percent in just 34 minutes.

However, some standard equipment has been removed to keep prices competitive. The 21-inch BMW Individual Style has been replaced by a 20-inch roller Style. In addition, the roof of the panoramic glass, ventilated chairs, crystal control, and iDrive turn voters no longer include standard equipment.

Despite this, several other features remain, including adaptive LED headlights, Iconic Glow grip, keyless entry with BMW Digital Key Plus, start button, BMW Live Cockpit Professional with 12.3-inch digital instrument display, and a 14.9-inch central touch screen with support from Apple wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as wireless charger Qi.

In terms of driver assistance, i5 is equipped with a Driving Assistant Professional package, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane centering assist, real collision warning, evanescent steering assist, blind spot monitoring, front and rear cross traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, and door opening warning.

In terms of power, there is no change, with eDrive40 powered by one rear motorbike that produces 340 PS and 430 Nm of torque, it can reach 0-100 km/hour in six seconds. The highest speed reaches 193 km/hour, while the range reaches 582 km in WLTP calculations.

Finally, BMW Malaysia has added more color choices for i5, with Sophisto Gray Metallic, Oxide Gray Metallic, Cape York Green Metallic, and Fire Red Metallic joining Black Saphire Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, Brooklyn Gray Metallic, and Phytonic Blue Metallic. On the inside, users can now choose Merino skin in Silverstone white.
