Gran Max Has Not Been Offered A Automatic Transmission, This Is What Daihatsu Said

JAKARTA - Daihatsu Gran Max has been present to offer commercial needs for Indonesians since 2007. Over 17 years, this car has sold more than 700,000 units marking the most popular choice in the pickup segment.

Not only that, sales of this model during 2023 by successfully contributing as much as 29 percent of all Daihatsu vehicles. The pickup version accounts for 23 percent, then Blind Van with 4 percent, and Minibus with 2 percent.

Having fulfilled a variety of commercial activity over the years, this car is only presented in manual transmission amid sales of automatic transmission cars that continue to climb. Will Gran Max be presented in the automatic version?

Responding to this, Tri Mulyono Marketing & Customer Relations Division Head of PT Astra International Tbk. Daihatsu Sales Operation, said that it will not provide automatic variants in the near future.

"Because this car is commercial, Gran Max is still available on manual," Tri said during an interview with the media in Senayan, Thursday, March 7.

Nevertheless, Tri added that it is still open to the possibility that automatic transmission will be presented to the country's market depending on consumer demand.

"It is possible that this model in the future will be presented with an automatic variant, we need to see," Tri added.

Currently, Daihatsu Gran Max is priced at IDR 161.45 million in the pickup version, then Blind Van for IDR 178.1 million, and Minibus for IDR 204.25 million. All prices include On The Road DKI Jakarta.
