Chery, an automotive manufacturer from China, will soon expand its existence in the Indonesian mobility market with the launch of Omoda E5, their latest model in the line of electric vehicles (EVs). The plan, this car will be officially launched in early February.

At a glance, Omoda E5 features a similar design to her brother who uses a conventional combustion engine, Omoda 5. One of the differences lies in a closed front grip, with the 'Omode' emblem gracefully emblazoned.

Ahead of this launch, the VOI team had the opportunity to experience a short drive experience during a trial event at Scientific Square Park, Serpong, Tangerang, on Wednesday, January 17. Here is the short review:

Premium interior

Similar to his brother's model, Omoda E5 offers maximum comfort in the cabin, with a fine cabin seat and layer that gives a luxurious impression. An adequate space for legs and head is also the advantage of this car.

The driving position in this model is designed ergonomically, providing good visibility for drivers with a posture above 165 cm. The sitting position and steering wheel that can be arranged in a tilt and telescopic manner further adds comfort in driving.

Various Features

The inside of this vehicle is equipped with various standard equipment, including electrical setups for driver seats and front passengers. The 24.6-inch double touch screen provides an intuitive interface and supports connectivity with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, as well as Sony's integrated audio system. In addition, the HD panoramic 540$ image feature adds visual details.

Omoda E5 has three driving modes - Eco, Sport, and Normal - each offering a different driving experience. Security features such as the ABS system (Anti-lock Braking System), the anti-pinch system at four doors, seat belts with a pretensionary and load-limiter, as well as a lock on the child's safety door are also pinned.

Impressive Performance

Powered by electric motors measuring 204 dk and 340 Nm torque, Omoda E5 presents a larger power compared to conventional engine version, Omoda 5. Various driving modes provide performance variations, where Sport mode provides a faster gas response. In fact, Eco mode is still fun without losing efficiency.
