Land Rover Withdraws 11 Range Rover Units In Australia, Here's Why

JAKARTA - Unpleasant news came from the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) group in Australia. A total of 11 units, including the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport 2023, were confirmed to be having problems with fuel tanks that caused potential leaks that could lead to fire risks, especially when there was a collision from behind.

Reporting from Drive, Sunday, January 14, the local Department of Infrastructure stated that the affected units had production defects, possibly the body frame had less perfect mechanical power with the panel.

"fuel leakage will increase the risk of vehicle fires and increase the risk of injury or death in passengers or people around vehicles and property damage," the Infrastructure Department wrote.

Responding to these findings, JLR opened a recall program and appealed to affected vehicle owners to immediately contact the Land Rover dealer network to make repairs for free.

Until now, there have been no reports of injuries or deaths caused by this problem. However, preventive measures were taken to ensure the safety and comfort of vehicle users.

JLR became the second brand in Australia to recall this January, after Volvo faced a different safety problem. Earlier this month, Volvo recalled 115 units of XC90 production from 2015 to 2023 due to errors in the second row seat belt system, increasing the potential for injury and death in passengers.
