Thailand Already, When Will Toyota Rangga Concept Be Marketed In Indonesia? This Is Toyota's Answer

Toyota has re-entered the commercial vehicle segment by presenting Rangga Concept or IMV 0 for several markets. This car began greeting the Southeast Asian market with Thailand being the first country to sell this pickup under the name Hilux Champ.

Based on the Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform, this car is intended for customers who need commercial vehicles, making it easier for consumers to run their business.

Previously, this pickup had been listed on various international automotive events, from the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) to the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. This car is also considered suitable for the needs of the people of the country. However, when will this car be launched?

Anton Jimmi Suwandi, as Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), said the production version of Rangga Concept will pave in Indonesia next year, although further details have not been disclosed.

"Next year, yes. The details of the information will be revealed because they are still in preparation," said Anton, when contacted by VOI, Monday, December 4.

As an illustration of the specifications, the Japanese manufacturer offers several versions for the Thai market with short and long wheelbases by offering three types of machines, namely 2.0 liters of gasoline and 2.7 liters, and 2.4 liters of diesel. The manufacturer also provides the type without equipment with flat decks.

The choice of the machine will later cooperate with the two-wheel drive system (2WD) as well as the option of transmitting five manual accelerations and six automatic accelerations.

In the Land of the White Elephant, Toyota Hilux Champ is offered at affordable prices ranging from 459,000 baht to 577,000 baht or equivalent to Rp202.6 million to Rp254.8 million.

Toyota has a positive story in the commercial industry with the first generation Kijang pickup in 1977. Toyota Kijang made history because it was able to encourage the development of the automotive industry in Indonesia and played an important role in increasing national economic growth.
