This Jadul Roadster Has Been Turned Into An EV, Priced At Nearly IDR 4 Billion

JAKARTA - Currently, the main focus in the automotive world is focused on electric vehicles, a sophisticated innovation that not only provides a new look to this industry, but also carries environmentally friendly mobility without emissions.

This development also initiated various parties to convert their vehicles, one of which was carried out by the Motor Company Moment.

The Austin, Texas, US-based company chose a different approach in converting conventional vehicles into EVs. They prefer classic models to be electric cars, one of which is what they did at Mercedes-Benz 280SL.

"Moment Motor Company specializes in fully designed solutions, accounting for the extraordinary complexity required in the integration of modern EV powertrains," said Marc Davis, Founder of the Motor Company Moment, as quoted by Carscoops on Tuesday, November 28.

The company's design process begins with an in-depth analysis of the vehicle. They use advanced CAD imaging to create 3D models of each car project, creating an EV conversion plan that maintains the balance of the weight and feel of original vehicle control.

For Mercedes-Benz 280SL, the Motor Company Moment embeds a 62 kWh battery package capable of offering a distance of up to 281 km. Meanwhile, its internal power is supported by a three-phase permanent magnetic motor capable of generating 300 dk of power and 502 Nm of torque.

Not only providing power sources, the Motor Company Moment also embeds the model with electrified brakes, steering, heating, and air conditioning, as well as updated gauges with a classic display.

As a result? Mercedes-Benz 280SL has been successfully converted into an environmentally friendly car that is not only comfortable and luxurious, but also retains the essence of its design beauty. As for the price, they cost around 250,000 US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 3.8 billion.
