Nissan Tries Ariya NISMO Can Compete With Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

JAKARTA - Electric cars (EVs) have some significant differences in their characteristics compared to conventional engine cars (ICEs). Even without attractive sound, automotive manufacturers can still attract public interest in EVs thanks to their outstanding performance.

An example is Hyundai's move by releasing Ioniq 5 N, one of the high-performance EVs in the global market. In addition, Tesla also has an EV with amazing performance, such as the Model S Plaid which is one of the fastest environmentally friendly vehicles in the world. This encourages other companies such as Nissan to prepare their flagship models to compete in the market.

Recently, Nissan was seen preparing and testing the NISMO variant of the Ariya around the Nurburgring Circuit, Germany. The photos show the SUV is resting at Tesla chargers in the area.

Quoted by Carscoops, Monday, November 6, it can be seen that the car has similarities with standard Ariya. However, if you look closely, there are some significant differences. This SUV no longer wears camouflage livery, but appears with a more sporting design.

This new variant has a rear ender that is redesigned with a wider front intake and a large splitter at the bottom. The wing is added to the lips at the bottom of the rear window as well as a diffuser with aerodynamic design.

Although there is no official information from the Japanese manufacturer regarding this car yet, Ariya NISMO is seen to be equipped with a Michelin Pilot Sport 20-inch tire, which helps the car get maximum grip while crossing the corner.

Information about the power of the electric motor is still not available. As an illustration, the strongest Ariya currently produces up to 389 dk of power, with the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km/hour within 4.8 seconds.

To achieve the expected performance, the NISMO manufacturer and division need to push it up to 3.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, as Hyundai Ioniq 5 N does. This amazing acceleration is produced from a dual electric motor capable of generating up to 600 dk of power and a 748 Nm of torque. The N Grin Boost feature helps Hyundai Ioniq 5 N reach power up to 641 dk and torque 770 Nm.
