JAKARTA - Recently, Mercedes-AMG launched a high performance model equipped with Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) technology, namely GLE 53 Hybrid 4 Matic+. This car is available in SUV and Coupe types.

Michael Schiebe, Head of Business Units Mercedes-Benz G-Class, said the model offers a combination of thinness, driving pleasure, and pure electric range, oriented towards AMG's signature high performance.

"This means we are expanding our lineup of models to include other interesting drivetrain variants and targeting new target groups," Scheebe said on the company's website, Tuesday, August 24.

Mercedes-AMG 53 Hybrid 4 Matic+ is equipped with several design changes, including cooling air inflows integrated into the center of the open front shield. The hybrid-specific emblem on the front and rear sides shows that the model is an electric driver.

The model is equipped with a 21-inch rim with a braking system from AMG with a six-piston caliber and a one-piston floating Kaliper.

Switching to the interior, there is an MBUX infotainment system that has a special display and function for the hybrid model. This includes a charging and display menu on the multimedia instrument and screen cluster. This feature can provide information such as, charging status and high-voltage battery temperature as well as electric range.

Moving to the bottom of the front hood, AMG GLE 53 Hybrid 4 Matic+ has a fresh 6-cylinder engine coupled to a 100 kW electric motor. Thus, the output power produced by this model reaches 544 dk and a 750 Nm torque capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/hour in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/hour. The driving system of all wheels from 4 Matic+ helps the performance of this car to be more optimal.

Supporting the hybrid system, the German manufacturer provided 31.2 kWh of batteries to this model which provides 80-86 km of range for SUV types and 82-87 km for Coupe. Battery power can be charged with 11 kW and a 60 kW DC fast charger capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent within 20 minutes.

With the performance offered, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid is priced at 125,515 euros or IDR 2.1 billion for SUVs. Meanwhile, the Couple type has a price of 133,851 euros, equivalent to IDR 2.2 billion.
