Toyota Hilux GR Sport Presents In Malaysia With A Cheaper Price Banderol Than Indonesia

JAKARTA - Toyota Hilux GR Sport has been the flagship manufacturer in the pickup car market since its launch in February. After its Australian debut, Toyota Hilux GR Sport has now entered the Malaysian automotive market. This pickup features a tough design with a typical Gazoo Racing (GR) cosmetic accent.

Reporting from Paultan, Wednesday, August 23, Hilux is equipped with various elements of GR Sport, including the front grip, front door, back, and front brakes that are given a red touch, and an overfender that gives a strong impression.

Despite sharing the platform with Hilux Rogue, Hilux GR Sport has an enhanced dimension. This pickup height increased 15 mm, and the front and back width were added 135 mm and 155 mm, respectively when compared to other variants.

The Hilux GR Sport also adopts KYB monotube shock damping with larger pistons. The removal of the back corner bar increases the dual's ability to adjust to uneven road surfaces.

In an effort to improve stability in off-road terrain, Hilux GR Sport is equipped with Toyo Tires 265/60 H/T Z tires with a sturdy 18-inch rim.

The interior Hilux GR Sport also gets a touch of sports in the style of GR Sport, such as headrests with the logo "GR" and red stitches, panel meters with red accents and special animations, a sports pedal from aluminum, and machine buttons with the brand GR.

The Hilux GR Sport is equipped with the same engine as the Rogue model, namely a 2.8 liter 1GD-FTV turbodiesel engine that produces 201 dk of power and 500 Nm of torque. This machine is paired with a six-speed transmission and a four-wheel drive system.

Toyota Hilux GR Sport is available in a variety of exterior color options, including Super White II, Attitude Black Mica, and Crampson Spark Red Metallic.

With the specifications and toughness offered, Hilux GR Sport is sold for 169,080 Malaysian ringgit, equivalent to around IDR 555.4 million, for the Malaysian market. This price is more affordable than the price in the Indonesian market which reached IDR 785.8 million.
