JAKARTA - The luxury car manufacturer McLaren recently announced the launch of their two new models in 2024. McLaren 750S Coupe and Spider will carry an iconic "Longtail" style and will have greater power.
McLaren 750S Coupe and Spider will be the successors to the very popular McLaren 720S model whose production ended in December last year after six debut years.
These two new cars will have enhanced features such as changing 30% of the components in their evolution, and providing a new model of 30 extra phone power and 22 lb-ft torque, a more advanced suspension system, a larger windshield, and a better rear camera. In addition, both will have the latest audio system from McLaren.
The M840T 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from the 720S model was also transferred to 750S but with several revisions so that the engine was more powerful up to 740 hp and torque up to 590 lb-ft.
From a speed of 0-100 km/hour, 750S only takes 2.7 seconds in the form of Coupe, while 750S Spider is slightly slower. And the highest speed of the car is 418 km/hour.
750S has a rear-wheel drive engine with power channeled to wheels through a seven-speed double-coupling auto gearbox with a shorter final drive ratio to increase acceleration.
More driver-focused chassis
McLaren equips 750S with the latest generation Active Chassis Control (PCC III) suspension system that connects hierarchically.
The core element of this system consists of new light springs and damping as well as unique accumulator tuning. Combined with revised geometry, McLaren wants to provide more agility and better driver feedback - made possible by power-assisted hydraulic steering and a 6mm wider front track.
And the softer spring at the front not only helps balance through the bend but also improves the quality of driving in general, "breathing better" above the bumpy road surface.
The availability of both cars is estimated at the end of this year. The two models, Carbuzz reported on Tuesday, April 25, have a difference in the basic price for the Coupe 324,000 version of around Rp. 4.8 billion and US$345,000 for Spider or around Rp. 5.1 billion.
