Chevrolet Camaro Announces Book Closes

JAKARTA - On May 16, 2015, Chevrolet introduced the sixth generation Camaro in Detroit, United States. The launch was ahead of Camaro's 50th birthday. And all Camaro generations were also exhibited.

Most recently, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, the muscular car produced by General Motors announced in Chevrolet's press room that Camaro's production for 2024 is the last version.

In fact, since its launch, the sixth generation of Camaro has been in demand by markets selling hundreds of thousands of units despite competing with other muscular cars such as Mustang and Dodge Challenger. For 2022 alone, Camaro's sales rose 12.5% from the previous year.

"This is the time for us to say goodbye to Camaro. It is difficult to express our gratitude to every Camaro customer, employee at the Camaro assembly, and race enthusiasts," said Scott Bell, Vice President Chevrolet in his statement.

So far, the sixth generation of Camaro has always appeared on various racing tracks, including NASCAR, IMSA, SRO, NHRA, and Supercars Championship.

January 2024 is the end of Camaro's sixth generation production at the Landsing Grand River Assembly Plant in Michigan before they switch to electric cars by 2035.

For the last version, the car is available in the coup variant and soft-top convertible. Well, as a farewell sign, GM will release Collector's Edition 2024, including for the top version of Camaro ZL1L.

Camaro ZL1L, which has a 6.2L supercharged V8 engine with 650 Hp power and 650 lb torque, will receive additional design as a form of respect for Camaro's history from the first generation in the 1960s.
