JAKARTA - Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way the world works and does business. In the midst of this transformation, the success of the younger generation is no longer determined solely by academic achievements or technical ability.
The ability to think critically, solve complex problems, build collaboration, and demonstrate leadership will be increasingly important advantages in the face of the increasing use of AI. In the future, success will increasingly be determined by the ability of humans to work side by side with technology.
The Future of Jobs Report 2025 from the World Economic Forum estimates that 86 percent of companies will undergo transformation due to the development of AI and technology by 2030, while about 39 percent of the skills that workers currently have will change in the next five years. On the other hand, the World Bank report in 2025 emphasizes that a country's competitiveness in the AI era is not only determined by the adoption of technology, but also by investment in the development of human resources that are adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive. For Indonesia, building a young generation with leadership quality and global perspective is an important investment to welcome Indonesia Emas 2045.
Departing from this, PT Prudential Life Assurance (Prudential Indonesia) continues to strive to build a future-ready organization, while ensuring that employees and young talents in the future have relevant skills to thrive in the AI era. One of them is through the Prudential-INSEAD NextGen Academy, an executive program for leadership development and business skills jointly organized by INSEAD Asia Campus Singapore, a leading business school based on the QS Global MBA Rankings 2026.
After undergoing a rigorous selection process from more than a thousand applicants, a total of six best students from various universities in Indonesia were selected to participate in this program for free for three days on July 7-9, 2026. The six participants are Carmen Kiara Indraputra (University of Indonesia), Reyhoboth Dillon (Sampoerna University), Masayu Alliyah Khairunnisa (University of Indonesia), Ershyanda Khatayusha (Telkom University), Edbert Nathaniel (North Sumatra University), and Febrian Valentino Agape (Udayana University).
The Prudential-INSEAD NextGen Academy learning series combines theory, practice, and simulation to strengthen participants' readiness for an evolving world of work. Participants hone strategic thinking skills, develop customer-centric solutions, leverage AI to create added value, and formulate innovations through a Blue Ocean Strategy approach. They also develop communication, negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills through business simulations and virtual reality-based immersive experiences.
In addition to business competencies, this program encourages participants to reflect on the values, career goals, and leadership character that they want to build. As the culmination of the program, participants present the business solutions that have been developed in front of Prudential management and INSEAD lecturers, as a real implementation of the analytical, collaborative, communication, and decision-making skills obtained during the program.
Karin Zulkarnaen, Chief Customer & Marketing Officer of Prudential Indonesia, said that Indonesia's future will be determined by the quality of its young generation.
"At Prudential Indonesia, we believe that empowering the younger generation is a long-term investment for Indonesia's future. This is also in line with the company's sustainability commitment (LST - Environment, Social and Governance), especially on the social pillar, through expanding access to education and developing young talent. Through the Prudential-INSEAD NextGen Academy program, we want to open more opportunities for the younger generation of Indonesia to learn from a global perspective, develop leadership potential, and later become agents of change that have a positive impact on society and the nation," explained Karin.
For the six students, the experience of studying at INSEAD is an important milestone in the participants' journey. Interacting with participants from various countries, building a global network, and presenting business solutions in front of INSEAD academics and Prudential leaders provide experiences that broaden perspectives while strengthening confidence to compete globally.
This experience was also felt by Febrian Valentino Agape, a fresh graduate from Udayana University, who was selected as one of the participants of the Prudential-INSEAD NextGen Academy.
"I am grateful to Prudential Indonesia for the opportunity to attend the Prudential-INSEAD NextGen Academy. During the three days of studying at the INSEAD Asia Campus in Singapore with students and educators from various countries, I gained a new perspective on business idea development, the use of generative AI, and the importance of building authentic connections. This program also changed my perspective on professional careers, that success is not only measured by personal achievements, but also by the positive impact we can create for society. This experience inspires me to continue to learn, implement the knowledge gained, and contribute to creating a positive social impact," said Tino.
"At Prudential Indonesia, we believe that success in the AI era is not only determined by the mastery of technology, but also by the ability of humans to adapt, collaborate, and lead. Therefore, we not only invest in the development of young talent through the Prudential-INSEAD NextGen Academy, but also continue to strengthen employee capabilities through the use of AI and continuous learning. In line with Prudential's ambition to become an AI-based insurance company that remains human-centric, we use technology and AI to empower employees, increase productivity, and provide a better experience for customers and stakeholders," concluded Karin.
