Mahfud MD's Parents' House Was Hit By Mob Geruduk In History Today, December 1, 2020

JAKARTA Memories of today, five years ago, December 1, 2020, the house of the parents of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam), Mahfud MD in Pemeksasan, Madura was raided by the masses. The raid was carried out so that Mahfud would not make Rizieq Shihab a suspect.

Previously, Rizieq's followers thought that the government often criminalized ulama against the government. The government is seen as wanting to criminalize Rizieq, who is noisyly criticized by the government with trivial problems.

Rizieq's departure to Saudi Arabia brought a stir in 2017. He chose to run away because he did not want to be criminalized by the government with the case of chatmesum and insulting Pancasila. Rizieq views that he wants to turn off his critical power to the government.

As a result, Rizieq only returned home after more than 3.5 years in Saudi Arabia. The return was greeted with great fanfare by his followers on November 10, 2020. Soekarno-Hatta Airport to the road leading to his home in Petamburan was full of people.

Rizieq promised to continue to be critical of the government. He did not want the government to move to show injustice. He will stand in a noisy line to the government's performance.

This narrative made Rizieq even more excited. He resumed his lecture activities in various places. His followers were busy attending. Even in the atmosphere of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, problems arise.

Rizieq then had a bad body period, he felt hot. He had time to do an antigen swab and the results were reactive or contaminated with COVID-19 at his residence.

Long story short, Rizieq was treated at the Bogor Ummi Hospital. However, Rizieq did not want to do a retest and was examined by the COVID-19 task force. He admitted that his condition was healthy and fine. Ummi Hospital itself obstructs the task force.

Rizieq was later deemed to have spread false news stating that he was healthy even though he had COVID-19. He has the potential to become a suspect.

"We from the COVID-19 Task Force are demanding to report the Ummi Hospital to the Bogor City Police on suspicion of hindering and obstructing the process of handling infectious disease outbreaks," said Head of Bogor City Satpol PP, Agustian Syah as quoted on the website.second.com, November 28, 2020.

This condition made Rizieq's followers in various regions not accept it. He considers the government to be looking for excuses to make Rizieq a suspect. The criminalization of ulama against Habieb is considered unwarranted.

Rizieq's supporters who were in Pamekasan, Madura actually plunged themselves. They then raided the house of the parents of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, to express their aspirations on December 1, 2020. The action lasted only five minutes. Mahfud was not also in Madura.

Instead of getting more attention, the action actually made people who were at Mahfud's house panicked. This condition is because those who are at home are Mahfud's mother and sister. Mahfud was furious that he was not playing. This condition made the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) banner intervene to guard Mahfud's residence tomorrow, or December 2, 2020.
