The Story Of Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX Is Ticketed By The Police

JAKARTA - Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX is known as a sincere and helpful person. Whoever is in trouble, he will certainly be helped. Many Indonesian political figures also feel the kindness of the Sultan of Yogyakarta himself.

The traces of kindness of Hamengkubuwono IX did not make him happy. He, who incidentally is a high-ranking state official, often acts humble. He didn't even want to be arrogant or avoid violating traffic. He invited the police Brigadier Royadin to ticket him.

The nationalism of Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX cannot be doubted. He supported the nation's leaders when Indonesia's independence resonated. He helped strengthen his congratulations and pledged to bring his territory to become part of Indonesia shortly after the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence.

Hamengkubuwono's kindness did not stop. He even secretly gave additional money for the needs of government employees to security forces in Yogyakarta. The assistance was given so that the struggle would not slack off. Even though the cash belonging to the Yogyakarta Palace is starting to erode much.

This condition was witnessed by many parties during the Second Dutch Military Aggression in 1948. Hamengkubuwono through his closest people provided assistance. Hoegeng Imam Santoso, who later became the 5th National Police Chief, also felt it.

But one day someone came to deliver money to the house. The amount was also large at 12.50 guilders, understand NICA's high exchange rate. However, the guilder money was given in the form of all coins! Hamengkubuwono is not only known for his mere kindness. he is also known as a straight figure. He always views truth as the truth. Likewise, mistakes are mistakes. There is no justification for mistakes.

The live act was shown by Hamengkubuwono in the 1960s. At that time Hamengkubowo was in a hurry to spur his sedan to Tegal. Incidentally he entered Pekalongan. His face was seen breaking through the one-way route.

Police Brigadier Royadin who was in the middle of a post saw the opposite direction car. Royadin then stopped the black sedan for ignoring the sign of entry ban (verboden). Royadin does not yet realize that the car driver is an influential person.

The inspection procedure was carried out. Royadin asked the driver to issue a driver's license. How surprised Royadin was when he saw the driver's license from the figure he stopped was the Sultan of Yogyakarta. The nervous Royadin immediately explained Hamengkubuwono's mistake. He pointed at the sign of a diver.

Hamengkubowono also admitted that he was wrong. He received any consequences related to punishment. Hamengkubuwono did not show that he was a big man. Royadin's hands shook while making a ticket. He felt that what he was doing was right.

However, Royadin actually got criticism by his colleagues. His superiors even considered Royadin as a police officer not knowing himself and inconsequential because he ticketed Sultan Yogyakarta. His colleagues even laughed at the ticketing action of Sultan Yogyakarta Royadin.

Royadin also remained in his position. This attitude actually made Hamengkuwono narrow. Royadin was asked to move tasks from Pekalongan to Yogyakarta. Hamengkubuwono even recommended Royadin to be promoted. Royadin did not choose that comfort. he chose to stay alive as a police officer in Pekalongan.

The story of Royadin's ticketing Hamengkubuwono is an important portrait that there are still straight officials in Indonesia. Hamengkubowo who dared to admit his mistakes and the Honest Police Royadin who dared to enforce the rules indiscriminately. The frame is a valuable lesson for all Indonesian people.
