JAKARTA - The latest film Venom: Let There Be Carnage is currently showing in theaters after its release was delayed several times. It hasn't been a week yet but there are many questions about the third film in the franchise.
Venom director Andy Serkis responded to the news. He admitted there are plans to continue the Venom story into a third part to become a trilogy.
Although this has not been confirmed by the production house, Serkis believes this plan will be very good if it can be realized.
"I'm not sure I can answer all of them but I can say I really enjoy making (Venom) films," Andy Serkis told CBR.
“If this works well and there is a continuation, sure! It's been great to work on his new film."
Andy Serkis also said screenwriter Kelly Marcel and lead actor Tom Hardy had already thought up the idea for a third Venom film. "I have a few ideas but I'm sure it's impossible to call them now."
Sony announced that Venom: Let There Be Carnage earned $71.3 million in its first three days. As a result, this number makes Venom the second largest opening in the midst of a pandemic.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage tells the story of the journey of Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), the alien symbiote who faces a new enemy named Carnage, the alter ego of the assassin Cletus Kasady. The film is in theaters since October 1.
