JAKARTA - Tukul Arowana was suddenly taken to the hospital, Wednesday, September 22. Information obtained, the senior comedian was taken to the National Brain Center Hospital, Cawang, East Jakarta due to bleeding in the brain that could potentially cause a stroke.

To VOI, Friday, September 24, dr. Anita Larasati explained about stroke. Stroke is a disease that occurs when the brain does not receive adequate blood supply due to blockage or rupture of blood vessels. Without blood, the brain will not get oxygen and nutrients.

Strokes can occur suddenly. Patients with stroke can experience a drastic decrease in brain function which can result in paralysis and loss of consciousness.

"(The stroke) occurred like a sudden blow, the patient who suffered it immediately experienced a drastic decrease in brain function, such as paralysis, slurred tongue, loss of consciousness, severe headache," said dr. Anita.

The stroke experienced by Tukul Arowana is a type of bleeding stroke that begins with a severe headache.

"If Mas Tukul has a severe headache, he says it can even cause death. Now, because a stroke is a blood vessel disease and it can occur in two ways, blockage or bleeding, we can say that what happened to Mas Tukul was a bleeding stroke,” continued dr. Anita.

Anita Larasati also said that the main cause of the rupture of blood vessels in the brain is because the walls are weak. His weak condition can be caused by a person's habit of eating unhealthy foods such as fat, cholesterol, or aneurysm disease. Aneurysms occur due to malformations in the blood vessels of the brain so that they are weaker.

Another factor that affects the rupture of blood vessels is high blood pressure.

"It could also be due to high blood pressure in addition to weak blood vessels, high blood pressure, so bleeding occurs in the brain," said dr. Anita.

Stroke can cause a variety of complications and most of them can be fatal. For this reason, if you experience symptoms such as nausea, severe headaches, decreased consciousness, to balance disorders, you should immediately go to the hospital for a check-up.
